About INSC

Introduction

International Nathiagali Summer College (INSC) on Physics and Contemporary Needs has been organized annually since 1976, primarily at the scenic hill resort of Nathiagali near Islamabad, Pakistan. The idea was conceived by the distinguished Nobel Laureate Professor Abdus Salam, who emphasized the vital importance of communication and the sharing of scientific knowledge among scientists of the developing world.

The primary objective of INSC is to break the isolation of scientists in developing countries by enabling meaningful interaction with internationally renowned faculty actively engaged in teaching and research. Postgraduate students from Pakistan are also encouraged to participate in this advanced intellectual discourse.

Over the past 44 years, more than 940 eminent scientists, including seven Nobel Laureates, have served as faculty members, benefiting over 1120 foreign scientists from more than seventy-five developing countries, along with 9400 scientists from Pakistan.
