Objectives
The International Nathiagali Summer College (INSC) was established with the fundamental aim of strengthening scientific capacity and fostering collaboration among scientists from developing countries.
- Breaking the intellectual isolation of scientists in developing countries
- Keeping pace with rapid scientific progress and contemporary needs through the promotion of higher science education
- Emphasizing the interaction of modern trends in physics with technological development, particularly for the needs of the Third World
- Promoting scientific dialogue by providing opportunities for cooperation and joint research programs
- Broadening the outlook of participants and re-orienting their scientific activities
- Identifying research areas that can be pursued with limited facilities available in developing countries
For countries that are scientifically and geographically remote from active centers of learning, the sense of isolation among scientists can be significantly reduced by organizing meetings and conferences where eminent experts from advanced countries share their knowledge and experience.
INSC covers a broad spectrum of topics in science and technology, emphasizingtheir application to contemporary societal needs. It remains unique in the developing world and continues to serve as a vital platform for South–South cooperation and North–South understanding by fostering lasting scientific collaborations.
