The International Nathiagali Summer College (INSC) on Physics and Contemporary Needs is a prestigious annual scientific event that has been held continuously since 1976. The College was conceived by the eminent Nobel Laureate Professor Abdus Salam, who recognized the vital importance of communication, collaboration, and the exchange of scientific knowledge within the global research community. His vision was to bridge the gap between scientists in developing countries and their counterparts in advanced research institutions worldwide, thereby fostering scientific growth and cooperation across borders. This initiative has been particularly beneficial for young and emerging scientists, offering them exposure to the latest developments in science and helping enhance their research capabilities.
Since its inception, the College has been organized annually without interruption, which is a remarkable achievement and a testament to its enduring legacy in promoting scientific excellence. The scientific program of INSC each year covers a wide range of frontier topics in Physics and allied disciplines. Typically, three to five subjects of current global interest—with particular relevance to the needs of developing countries—are selected for detailed discussion. The following activities will be conducted during the 51st INSC:
- Activity-I: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (6–11 July 2026)
- Activity-II: Advanced Manufacturing Techniques (6–10 July 2026)
- Activity-III: Nuclear Techniques in Agriculture and Biotechnology (11-13 July 2026)
- Activity-IV: Nuclear Techniques in Health and Environment (13–18 July 2026)
- Activity-V: Advances in Plasma Science and Fusion Technology (14–17 July 2026)
